Brief History of Setup
Writer Neil Fleming and Director Geoff Church set up Hydrocracker in 2003 , joined later by Jem Wall and Richard Hahlo . After a number of approaches to work, in 2007 we produced The New World Order (link), setting an amalgamation of Pinter shorts in old police cells in a Town Hall. This combination of work in specific non-theatre sites and the direct involvement of the audience became a blue print for our work.
"Both Pinter and site-specific theatre emerge as winners from Hydrocracker's deeply unsettling 75-minute piece played out in the dizzying heights and dank depths of Brighton Town Hall"
