"Do you have the slightest idea how hard it is to change something?
Really change it? – a plan, a company, a human soul?

  • Meet James Brown. Charismatic, foul-mouthed, brilliant.
  • Meet Leif, wunderkind of statistics and stochastics.
  • Meet Nicola, precocious, attractive, ambitious as hell.
They are the Consultants. Invisible and unaccountable, consultants are everywhere, whispering in the ear of corporations, banks, governments.

Once they move in, they never leave.

Rain from a Dry Sky is the story of a weak man who wants to be strong, a chief executive who gambles everything – his business, his marriage, his happiness – on a deal with the devil. Faced with corporate and personal disaster, Hugo Shackleton brings in Brown and his team to transform his fortunes.

But will he survive a move to the most dangerous strategy of all? And can his wife save him from damnation?
