Hydrocracker is a artist-led, project-funded company based in Brighton. We are proud to be Associate Artists of Brighton Dome & Festival, and adeptly steered by Jenni Dawkins, Joseph Dunne-Howie and Natasha Magigi .
Jem Wall
Co-Founder & Artistic Director
An actor for over 30 years in theatre, TV and film and an experienced workshop leader, Jem leads the Artistic Program, co-creating all Hydrocracker productions.
Nathan Crossan-Smith
Co-Director
Nathan is a director who co-creates new work with AD Jem Wall - introducing Hydrocracker to an access aesthetic.
Richard Hahlo
Co-Founder & Artistic Associate
Richard has been instrumental in co-creating Hydrocracker’s key works. He is now an Associate of the Company his experience is invaluable. He is co-founder of Dramatic Resources.
Neil Fleming
Co-Founder
Head of one of the largest energy and commodities market’s news and information businesses, Neil is also a playwright, screenwriter, poet and theatre translator, bringing both practical and artistic experience to the team.
Amy Wall
Marketing Director
Amy joined the Hydocracker team as a freelancer in 2021. She currently works as a marketer for Freckle Productions and has previously worked for Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre in London.
Associate Artists
John Hunter
John is a founding artist at non zero one, creating interactive live experiences since 2009. He is Lead Producer at creative studio Anagram, and an Associate Artist of artists’ group Blast Theory, with whom he has worked since 2009.
Rhiannon Jones
Rhiannon Jones is an actor, theatre-maker, and artist based in Liverpool. As a teenager she experienced hearing loss and now uses a hearing aid and communicates through BSL and SSE, using both as the character of Mish in WHO CARES 2032.
Chloe Todd Fordham
Chloe is an award-winning writer, theatre maker, dramaturg and facilitator who has collaborated with Hydrocracker on WHO CARES and ACROSS THE WAY. . Creative access is super important to Chloe, and she loves discovering new ways to make work as accessible as it can be to all audiences.
