Making Work for Non-Theatre Sites

We specialise in making site specific work using non-theatre spaces, physically leading audiences through a narrative. Sessions are tailored for artists wanting to make work in new ways, students studying performing and combined arts, and non-professionals wanting to try something a bit different.

Creative Workshops & Skills Development

We are experienced at working with groups using a range of theatre workshop skills from in-depth character creation techniques based on our devising methods to exploring spoken word and performance to preparing for auditions.

Site-Responsive/ Immersive Theatre for HEI students

Hydrocracker guest lecture in higher education institutions across the country, at both under and post-graduate level. We work with course leaders to create bespoke sessions, sharing our creation and engagement methodologies, tasking students with creating their own work in response.

“A massive massive thank you .. for your amazing creativity, generosity and support for independent artists.”

— Creative Learning Associate, Royal & Derngate, Northampton

“Hydrocracker were able to give our students not just an insight into contemporary ideas around immersive and site specific theatre but a practical way to explore them.”

- Jo Scott - Lecturer MA Contemporary Theatre Practice University of Salford.
